Technical description

François-Paul Journe pays tribute to the research conducted on resonance by the great 18th century watchmakers, with the presentation of the first wristwatch resonance chronometer.

In 1983, François-Paul Journe took up the challenge with a first creation in the form of a pocket-watch, which did not yet perform according to his expectations. It would take fifteen more years of work for the watchmaker to gain the maturity and the experience to enable him to present an exclusive world première, the first resonance wristwatch.

About

This watch was produced between 2000 and 2009

A World Premiere :
The first twin-movement wristwatch chronometer using resonance.
With 2 symmetric dials with analog displays.

For the first time ever, a mechanical movement has been designed, developed and crafted taking into account the constraints of the wristwatch.

More than 20 years of research into the phenomenon of resonance have resulted in the first wristwatch chronometer working with the resonance to improve timekeeping precision on the wrist.

The twin independent movements indicate times on two dials. The crown at 12 o'clock winds both movements and sets the hours and minutes of each dial independently. Different time zones can be set if required.
