The Contemporary Art salon artgenève has opened its doors on January 30th to February 2nd, 2020 at Palexpo Geneva. The Prix Solo artgenève - F.P.Journe rewards the best monographic exhibition presented by one of the 15 participating galleries. It was awarded Wednesday night to the Gallery Richard Saltoun for the solo show of Greta Schödl and for the first time to a second gallery who always put their acting and energy into the service of the artist, the Gallery Jean Brolly for the exhibition of John Armleder.
The Jury of the Prix Solo artgenève - F.P.Journe comprises three major figures of the European Art scene: Marc-Olivier Wahler, director of the MAH Genève, Beatrix Ruf, curator and Alberto Salvadori (ICA Milano). Work of the two artists, Great Schödl and John Armleder, purchased by F.P.Journe, will be donated to the MAMCO in Geneva.
The 2020 edition of artgenève is rich of 90 international exhibiting galleries presenting some 700 artists, with a rich institutional and curatorial program, original trademark of the salon. In addition to regional institutions such as MAMCO Genève and Plateforme 10 from Lausanne, artgenève has the honor of hosting ICA Milano, the Royal Academy of Arts from London with a vast installation by Michael Craig-Martin, the Consortium from Dijon, the Ringier Collection from Zurich with floating installation from artist Urs Fischer, the Centre Pompidou and a monographic exhibition of David Shrigley presented by a major private collection of the region.
artgenève/estates with a series of exhibitions dedicated to historical artists, is dedicated this year to Mario Merz and his distinguished igloos. Architecture is also represented inside the exhibition walls with Jean Prouvé’s pavilion installed in The Living Room area.
F.P.Journe pursues its commitment in the Art world as watch partner of the 2020 salons artmonte-carlo, from 1st to 3rd of May, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco and the new salon artmoscow, from May 20th to 24th.
