PRIX SOLO ARTGENèVE - F.P.JOURNE 2019
Geneva, January 30th, 2019 – Awarding of the Prize to the Gallery Laurence Bernard for the Solo Show of Marion Baruch

The Contemporary Art salon artgenève has opened its doors from January 31st to February 3rd 2019 at Palexpo Geneva. The Prix Solo artgenève - F.P.Journe rewarded the best monographic exhibition presented by one of the 17 participating galleries. It was awarded Wednesday night to the Gallery Laurence Bernard, Geneva, for the solo show of Marion Baruch.

The Jury of the Prix Solo artgenève - F.P.Journe comprises four major figures of the European Art scene: Andrea Bellini (Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva), Ines Goldbach (Kunsthaus, Baselland), Hans-Ulrich Obrist (Serpentine Galleries, London) and Beatrix Ruf. A work of Marion Baruch, purchased by F.P.Journe, will be donated to the MAMCO in Geneva.

The 2019 edition of artgenève is rich of 80 international exhibiting galleries presenting some 700 artists, as well as a number of exhibitions and performances amongst which, for the Estate Show the large architectural installation by American artist Chris Burden. The Living Room section will show a selection of video works arranged in a wide horizon line and visible from a helicopter. A large sculpture from the English artist Cerith Wyn Evans will be presented at the center of the fair.

The gallery program is enriched by institutional exhibitions: the Fondation Beyeler from Basel as well as the Serpentine Galleries and the Whitechapel Gallery, both from London, as well as the MAMCO Genève, the Kunsthaus Baselland, the “Fondation Gandur pour l’Art” and the “Centre de la Photographie” with the Contemporary African Art Collection of Jean Pigozzi.

After a fruitful collaboration in 2018, the PAD (Pavilion of Arts and Design) is present for the second consecutive year with a panel of galleries specialized in collectible design and primitive arts. The PAD will also be present end of April at artmonte-carlo.

F.P.Journe pursues its commitment in the Art world as watch partner of the salon artmonte-carlo, from 26 to 28 April, 2019 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
